What's the Lake Como Greenway?
The Lake Como Greenway is a panoramic walking trail created to highlight the western area of lake Como's natural and architectural treasures. The route starts in Colonno and ends in Griante, near Menaggio.
There is no ticket or access fee to walk the Greenway. The path is open all year round and is perfectly suited to couples, families with children, dogs or anyone who wishes to immerse themselves in the elegant charm of the lakeside.
Please note that the trail includes stairs and cobbled paths, making it unsuitable for strollers or wheelchairs. For young children, a baby carrier is recommended.

The route
The Lake Como Greenway stretches for 11.2 kilometers and can be completed in approximately 3.5 hours at a relaxed pace. However, the route is designed to be flexible: you can enjoy it in shorter sections, pausing to explore the charming villages along the way.
The walk begins in Colonno, on via Luigi Civetta, and winds its way through a series of picturesque lakeside towns: Sala Comacina, Ossuccio, Lenno, Mezzegra, Tremezzo, and Griante. The trail gently ascends and descends, with a total elevation gain of 221 meters, revealing spectacular viewpoints, tranquil alleys, and glimpses of historic churches, noble villas, and centuries-old olive groves.
There’s no need to complete the entire trail to enjoy the experience. You’re free to stop in any village that inspires you, and from various points along the route, it's easy to return to your accommodation thanks to well-connected bus stops and water taxi services available throughout the Greenway.

- Beautiful Romanesque and Baroque churches
